Play Dough

Last week we started procedural writing. To help us to know what that meant we made play dough and then wrote about how we made it.
We had lots of fun and made some mess (mostly Miss Linehan made the mess) and wrote our very first pieces of procedural writing!

We turned 100!

On the last day of term 3 we had our one hundredth day at school!

We can't wait to start counting our next 100!

Space homework challenge

Over the past couple of weeks all the children in year 1 and 2 were given a homework challenge.
The challenge was to create something about space that interested them or to show something that they had learnt.
I always knew that the kids in Room 2 were amazing and creative but their projects blew me away!

Information Report

In Room 2 we have been learning to write Information Reports.
Have a look at the video below of Yousif, Christine, Bradley and Joshua reading their information reports on the Sun.

Mrs Rennie-Younger has been teaching Room 1 and Room 2 to skip!

We know how to do two different kinds of skipping.
If we want to run and move we need to use the rhyme: Over, step step. Over, step step.
If we want to skip on the spot and not move we need to say: Over, jump jump. Over, jump jump.

We know that over means we start with the skipping rope behind us and then we bring it over our head and then step step or jump jump.

We have only had two lessons so far but we are already becoming really good at skipping!!

Calendar Art

Over the last two weeks we have been creating some awesome calendar artwork!
We think the best part was having paint on our feet. It was squishy and cold!

Gumboots and Umbrella day

On Friday not so long ago Sunnybrae had a special walk to school day. We wore our gumboots and carried our umbrellas.
Some people even wore their gumboots all day long!

Special Stickers!
People in Room 2 like to write messages with the magnetic letters.
Maia and Christine wanted to write a message to Mrs O'Hanlon.
This is what they wrote:

and when they came back they had HUGE special stickers!!

Trip to the Stardome!
Last week we went on our first ever school trip! We went on a bendy bus with Room 1 and Room 5. Have a look at all the things we saw!

We went inside and watched a movie about a little star that was really our  Sun!

After the movie we got to explore...

 We even got to "Dress up" as Astronauts!

This is called the Pumpkin suit!

After all the fun we had looking at all the cool things we went into the classroom and we learnt about how the Sun, Moon and Earth all work together.

 Nati, Lily and Daniel (from Room 1) dressed up as the Sun, Moon and the Earth! They showed us how we move around the Sun and Moon moves around us!

Then we hopped back on the bus. We were all a little bit tired now!

 We saw the Sky Tower.

 We saw a big boat from the Navy!

What a fun first trip we had!
